With all due respect, but I feel it is pointless to seek advice here on such a matter. At least I can't predict the future.
Due to Covid, there is now a lot of question about the possibility of getting a refund of the passport / ticket price after a trip is canceled or interrupted. It has been stated many times that you should read the terms and conditions that came with your purchase. The question is who bears the risk of the changed regulations. For train companies, this is a matter of force majeure.
Thank you for your comment, but I have canceled my trip. I was just hoping that we could still go, but I'd rather wait.
