We would like to visit our friends in Germany. They use the Montabaur station. When we type it into reservations it doesn’t show up. Is it not included it is a DB train from Munich?

There certainly is a station in Montabaur served by local and long distance trains between Cologne and Frankfurt, a pass is valid on all these.
Use https://www.bahn.com/en for accurate timetable searches.
No direct train from Munich to Montabaur. Guess change in Frankfurt airport is best. Basically outside high-peek time wouldn't expect reservations are needed especially between Frankfurt and Montabaur not.
