Hello everyone, hope you can help me! I’m departing form London to Paris on a Saturday Morning (Jan 11th), I will stay on Paris until the morning of Tuesday (14th) only to take a train to Lucerne that same day, will pass the night in Lucerne to take my last train the next day (Wednesday 15th) to Zurich and that would be the end of my train-trip. So my question is, how many days do I need to buy my eurail pass? As far as I understand, I need tu buy a 4 travel days global pass, but I’m not sure at all.

Lastly, despite it could be obvious, this is my first time in europe (therefore in european trains). What’s the difference between economy, budget and premium passes? is there a limit of luggage pieces I can carry in a budget or economy passes? considering economy and budget passes allows me to select first-class or second-class seats, it turns to me a little bit confusing.

Thank you so much for your help, is much appreciated!

Hi,

if I understand you right you will have 3 travel days (11, 14 and 15 Jan).

What’s the difference between economy, budget and premium passes?

You mean classes not passes? There are any premium, economy or other passes. Only Eurail Global Pass or One Country Pass.

In Europe in general there are on most trains two classes. 1st and 2nd class and you can buy Eurail Pass for 2nd or 1st. With a 1st class pass you are allowed to use 2nd class but not the other way round.

Eurostar and some other hightspeed trains have 3 o more classes with other names.

For Luggage, every train company has other rules. In general you can take so many items that you can carry on with you. Please keep in mind, that in France you have to label luggage and they have restricted rules.

You have not to buy a pass to take the train, you can buy also tickets via the train companies.

Thank you so much Angelo! it has been very helpful!. Have a good day!
