I have already purchased a France one-day pass, and would like to start my journey at the border city Basel SBB.
Is my pass also valid for trains from Basel SBB to France?

Yes Basel SBB is the border point for France. You may need to add the journey manually because Rail Planner may or may not recognize Basel SBB (France).
Btw the cross-border TGV Lyria has a very expensive mandatory seat reservation fee : 29€ in 2nd class, 39€ in 1st class. It is cheaper to board the TGV in Mulhouse or Strasbourg : 10-20€ in both classes.
