We are planning on traveling from Nice to London however there a part of the travel that requires transfer by public transportation from Paris Gare De Lyon with allotted time of 1 hr 10 minutes to Paris Nord  what does that mean and what do we need to do? Is that public transportation included in our fare? Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks a ton for the help In advance!

The 2 Paris stations are about 5 km apart.

The fastest way is the suburban RER D train (10 min journey). It is not included in Interrail/Eurail. Buy paper tickets onboard the TGV (dining car) to avoid queueing in Paris.

The 2h20 margin is plenty enough: go to Gare du Nord when you arrive, get something for lunch and pass security/passport controls for the UK.

If you wish to avoid the Paris station transfer you could do:

  • TER Nice-Ville - Marseille St-Charles 08:25 - 11:08
  • TGV Marseille St-Charles - Lille-Europe 12:14 - 16:58 10-20€
  • Eurostar Lille-Europe - London St. Pancras 18:35 - 19:00 30€

(subject to date and availability of course)
