I am having trouble getting information on trains from Piraeus to Patras for early October. Is the train-bus combination running normally, and where can I find reliable schedules online? The Man in Seat 61 rightly says that the hellenictrain site is quirky!

The train/bus combination is expected to run, but Greek railways just don't publish timetables a long time in advance.
