Hi there,

I am travelling from Nice to Milan. Eurail requires that I book a seat reservation for the second part of the journey (Ventimiglia to Milan) but not for the first part of the journey (Nice to Ventimiglia). Does that mean that I will have to book my own ticket for that or can we just hop on the train without a ticket?

(I have attached photos for reference)

Nice - Ventimiglia : add the train to the app before boarding. This gives you a QR-code = your ticket. Then hop on and sit wherever you want. Nothing else to do :)

Ventimiglia - Milan : same as above + buy a seat reservation in advance. Either 3€ + 2€ booking fee on Interrail/Eurail or 3€ on tickets.oebb.at : add Interrail/Eurail as a discount and select one-way tickets.
