wasted outbound journey

I added an outbound journey from my COR to my pass, this was for London to Brussels. 
when I arrived to get on the eurostar, they said I could not board as I did not reserve a seat. 
Interrail app did not suggest I needed a reservation for this train time.

I have now had to book onto another outbound journey tomorrow, but it will use up 2/2 outbound inbound journeys.

What am I to do when I need to return to my COR at the end of my trip?

I suppose you were suffering from the bug that showed Eurostar (and Thalys) trains as IC without needing reservations.

Contact customer service here:

https://eurail.zendesk.com/hc/en-001/requests/new

And ask them to fix it.

The best is to include a screenshot of the train you wanted to take, showing no required reservations.
