Hi. We want to take the golden pass express in Swizerland on June 16. I have a few questions:

  1. Where does it start and what are the available time schedule? How do we reserve seats?
  2. Is it better to start from Geneva or Bern?
  3. Does the golden pass route have specific time?
  4. Can we bring luggage in the golden pass train?
  5. Where does it end?

Thank you!

The Golden Pass Railway is served by hourly trains between Montreux and Zweisimmen. From both ends there are connecting trains to Geneva, Lausanne (from Montreux), Bern or Interlaken (from Zweisimmen).

Use sbb.ch or SBB app for planning.

You can bring luggage as long as you can carry it (like any other train).

Reservations are optional on all trains.

If you want to take the shiny new train (Golden Pass Express), it runs 3-4 times daily from 11th June only between Zweisimmen and Montreux due to technical problems. Reservations recommended for that train.

I'd recommend to take the Belle Epoque train (in regular service, no extra costs). You can see the departure times on sbb.ch/SBB app.
