Hello, I have a technical question, if I am going interrailing from the 9th august to the 5th September do I need to buy a 2 months pass, or can I buy a 1 month pass. I will be gone less than a month, but it does switch from august to September while I am gone, and I can’t find anything on the website to answer my question

You are fine with a 1 month pass. If you start the validity of the pass on the 9th of August it will be valid until the 8th of September
OR-if you do not plan to go training on a near daily base: check how many really long trips you make and check if a pass for 5/7/10 days is not more economical. Pass can start any day and lasts till day-1 after ½/3 monthes.
BTW- I see de er dansk-you can also still buy paper pass-direct on the spot-at the 3 main DSB INTern counters-beside K/ob Aarhs and Odense. DSB is direct connected to DB and can also make a fair lot of thee pesky REServ you may need to make (bot NOT for FR or ESpana!)
