Hello , I would like to ask if I can travel from Athens Greece to Lisbon Portugal via train , using the fastest way( the airline ticket is too costly)
Is that possible to go from Athens at Friday and arrive Lisbon on Saturday ? Because I need to bring my kids with me.
I see that the kids are free of charge so that I only need to buy 1 adult ticket, right ?
Athens - Lisbon would take at least 5 days overland. It's a 4500 km journey!!!
Train tickets are also unlikely to be cheaper than flying. With Eurail you also need to add seat reservations on some long-distance trains.
Last thing: there are no international trains out of Greece for multiple reasons. The best alternative would be an overnight ferry to Italy.
However all that to say that your plan is impossible. What's the travel date? Have a look at flights such as Athens - Faro or Athens - Porto if Lisbon is too expensive.
