Hi,

If I want to go from Amsterdam to Berlin, there is a route that passes by Frankfurt, (so Amsterdam-Frankfurt in early pm on the 31st), but then we need to board a train from FF to Berlin, which is scheduled to leave at 23h57 per rail planner app. 1) will it still only take one travel day since we board before 24H?
2) if the train is late and leaves at 12h40PM, will it still count as only one travel day on the 31st or will it add a 2nd travel day?

Thanks!

As long as you use a train scheduled to depart before 00.00 then it counts as the first day.

You enter the scheduled time into your pass not any delayed actual time.

THis is not a str8forward route-unless you intend to see Bankfurt/Mainhattan (the germans nicknames)-not a normal touristy city.

The usual-and often in summer used by dozens of passholders is the NJ/seated (have to stand) to DUISburg-change there-similar time just before 23.59.

DIREct ICE trains Ams-FRa, even maybe still in planners, do NOT run for  now due to extreme lack of parts for these special sets for 2 currents: its mostly shuttle as far s DUsseldorf.
