Conductor wrote on our pass

Hi,

We are currently on a train to Budapest, and the conductor just checked our tickets. We have a paper ticket, but use the app to log our travels. The conductor hardly spoke english, and didn't understand that we used the app to do it.

When she looked at our tickets she wrote the destination and date just under our QR code on the pass itself and not on the table in the pass cover. Will this be a problem later on seeing as we now have text on our pass for later inspections?

It probably happens more often than you’d expect.

I have certainly had some stupid staff effectively deface passes out of ignorance before and these individuals didn’t even have the language barrier excuse.

You should be OK with this as long as it has not obscured the essential text on the pass, it is also possible if you encounter another idiot that they will ape the first one and write again on the pass.

Actually this way of ´validating´ tickets was the normal way in East-Europe for INternat. tix till very recently-also due to then lack of stamping hand-held machines like they still have in DE/AT-and no more in countries which are 1 step ahead of that.

As one was able to break unlimited times-and in the total validity of-then 2, later 1 month-on such tickets it was also deemed needed to srcibble down till how far passenger had come in coded abbreviations.

Ahh okay, thanks for the replies. It hasnt obscurred any text, so it should be okay then. Luckily we dont have many trips left too
