Hi, i want to travel to Italy and i am not sure if the global pass is valid for the starting country, in my case germany.
can someone answer this question.

Your global allows up to 2 days of your choice to be used in your country of residence to aid your travel in and or out. Travel days are from 0000 to 2359 CET and covers all trains scheduled to leave by then even if it finishes after midnight
These are part of your travel days NOT extras. You don't have to use them.
So yes you can use them to travel from Germany to Italy.
