We want to travel from Australia to Europe on November this year. When would we need to purchase a pass by? I want to leave it as late as possible in order to save the money for it (probably the 10 day pass) but I don’t want to leave it TOO late.
I assume I have the option to have it on my phone rather than via post so I can save time?

Daft simple; if you opt for the moibile pass, 5 mins is enough-when you wait at Kingsford Smith to board. You can even buy them at some of the major arrival airports on the continent.
Every now&then there are promotional periods when its 10% OFF-check regularly if interested, but these passes are far harder to exchange/cancel.
What you likely worry more are the sometimes needed REServations-in fact you can in many cases make these even without having the pass.
