This is because you don’t have a Pass Cover number, they don’t issue them with mobile passes, only paper passes.
To get a cover number you must request them individually from Interrail customer services.

Thanks I have put in a request.
Two things. You shouldn't activate you pass until just before boarding the first train so my advice is that you deactivate your pass. More about that further down.
There are several ways to make reservations for the Eurostar.
You can call b-europe and make the reservation. No need of Pass Cover Number.
The phone call is rather expensive.

You can also call SNCF. No need of Pass Cover Number.

Press #85 for English, no booking fees, reservations are sent via e-mail
When you choose the start day of the validity of the pass, the first day of the validity period is automatically made a travel day, even if you don't enter a journey, the advice is therefore not to activate the pass before the first travel day as you only can deactivate the pass before 00.00 on the day the validity starts. If your travel plans change in the last moment you will loose travel days.
The advice from the experienced travellers in the community is also never to activate a travel day, that is connect a journey to your pass, until just before boarding the train, otherwise you might loose a travel day if your travel plans change in a late stage You can't delete a travel day in the past. A travel day can only be deleted until 23.59 CET the day before the travel day
This is so helpful thanks, As you can probably tell this is my first time and that is great extra advice about activating. I will change that just in case of these issues come up like you mention.
