Is indefinite leave to remain visa fine for proof of residency in the UK?

Hi, I have lived in the UK for over 10 years with an indefinite leave to remain visa but I have a Japanese passport. I have been using the indefinite leave to remain visa to enter the UK and to prove my residence for the past decade at immigration. However I have seen some people say that I need some sort of European residence card to prove my residence and that the visa does not count. Is this true? The visa is the only evidence I have.

Thanks in advance :)

As you have a non European passport you can buy a Eurail pass and then you don't need to think about the outbound/inbound travel days.

I am flying from England to Germany and flying back so I don’t have to worry about inbound and outbound luckily. I have already purchased my interrail pass and have finalised all of my plans so I am getting worried I have to buy it again
