im travelling with a 1-month Pass this August and im still unsure about how to use my trips. Is there any limit to trips undertaken on 1 day? Can I, for example, take a regional train from, say, Firenze to Genua and go back the same day, meaning I can pretty much freely use any regional trains, as long as I add the trip to my mobil pass?

Yes you can use the pass like that.
It´s a dayticket for Europe you can travel where you want on a travelday (Only limit for Interrailpass is the Homecountry)

Yes you can use the pass like that.

genau wie hier das 9€-für 1 tag-und sogar auch noch ins Ausland.
Mann könnte auch und ohne RES zB eine TagesAusflug Wien-Budpest-Bratislava-Wien machen.
im übrigen ist gerade Fir-Gen nicht sehr schnell oder einfach zu machen.
