Hello, I’ve searched for an answer to this and followed the advice given but have not been able to resolve the problem. I’m booked into accommodation in Strasbourg on 25th September and need to get from Lyon to Strasbourg that day.

I’m just not able to reserve a seat on any of the sites I’ve looked. I can purchase tickets on some of the sites but not simply reserve seats. Obviously I don’t want to pay for tickets after already buying the Eurail Pass. Some trains are showing no tickets available (Rugby World Cup time) but if you are able to point me to how I can reserve pretty much any seats (need two) on a train that will get us to Strasbourg on that day I’d appreciate it greatly. We leave for Europe from Australia tomorrow!

There is still plenty of availability on the direct trains Lyon-Strasbourg: (departure Lyon Part-Dieu)

And even more over Paris (but a bit unpleasant to change trains and stations there)
