Hola a todes. Tengo el pase en el celular y no quiero pagar servicio de roaming fuera de mi país. Mi idea es conectarme todos los días en el hotel y reservar los viajes desde allí. Pero cuando suban al tren a controlar los tickets, ¿es posible mostrar una captura de pantalla o un ticket en pdf, estando sin conexión? Gracias.
si no tengo roaming, puedo bajar los boletos y mostrarlos off line?
The pass works offline, it is required to connect every 3 days to keep it active but it will display your ticket without a live internet connection.
Reservations for many trains will be fulfilled as a pdf that can be saved to your device and displayed offline. You need to make sure what format they are selling before buying.
Many trains, particularly long-distance trains have wifi, usually for free, so you will be able to connect on-board much of the time.
An option is to buy a pre-pay sim card in Europe and use that, due to EU rules roaming across EU and in some other countries will be part of any package, prices vary across countries/providers but typically a package with a good data allocation (GBs) will be less than €20/month, considerably less in some cases.
Actually the RES is separate from the trips (these you do have to administrate) and in most cases will not even be asked for. Only in a few cases (notable again the 3 worst pass-countries: FR, ES, IT + trains going/coming from there) you will need to show it-if only for the passing of entry-gates (FR/TGV).
Availability of free WiFi does differ a lot between countries, also how reliable it is even when they advertise it and sometimes (FR!) it will only accept local nrs. Many main stations will also have free wifi.
Most trains that (should ) have it have the special sign for it beside doors or inside.
You only need internet:
- To activate the pass
- To activate a travel day and generate a QR code (after adding the first journey of the day)
- Every 72 hours
After you've activated a travel day and generated a QR code, you can still add/delete journeys without internet. You can also show the QR code without internet. If it takes too long to show it, turn on flight mode.
