If you travel on a private railway in Switzerland using the Interrail pass to obtain a discount do you have to use up one of the days on your Interrail Pass to do so?

If you only get a discount you don't need to use a travel day. I guess that you are planning on travelling in the Jungfrau-region. Most other private railways in Switzerland are fully included in the Interrail/Eurail offer.
