This is our first time visiting Europe. We are planning to purchase a 15 day pass for train transportation in the Netherlands and Germany. We are from South Africa and therefore not familiar with the Eurail and spesific transportation option available.

Part of our trip is going to Baden Baden. We will be travelling from Amsterdam to Baden Baden station usng the eurail global pass. However, we are not sure if the eurail pass can be used for a bus from the station to Baden Baden town (central). If yes, which bus should we take? If not, can you assist with the the cheapest option available to get to Baden Baden town from the station

Hello, urban bus services are not included with your rail pass, so you'll need to buy a ticket.

Main bus line into town is number 201. But as there are more bus lines you may use, here's the link to the electronic timetable:

https://www.bahn.com/en

Unfortunately, the stations are all in german. You need to search from Bahnhof Baden-Baden (Bahnhof means station) or just from Baden-Baden to the point you need to go. You may enter a adress (town and name of street with house number) or a point of interest.

Normal price into town is 2,80 € per person for an adult (there are maybe better offers (day and month passes) if you’ll do a lot of urban / regional travel while staying in Germany). You'll get the prices when searching for a specific connection. It's also possible to buy the tickets online before on this webpage (but you would get them at the station / ticket machine, too). There's also an app (DB Navigator) if you prefer this.

It's also the best website / app to verify connections within Germany (shows actual delays, platform numbers, urban transport etc.).

Thank you very much, Hektor. This is most helpful.
