Dear Community,
We have planned a trip from Germany, Berlin to Sweden, Stockholm by night train and I am wondering if I have understood everything correctly.
I have bought a four-day Global Pass and plan to start in Essen and take the ICE to Berlin.
Can I use public transport in Essen to get to the main station?
As I understand it, I need a full day's travel to get from Essen to Berlin to catch the night train, as we leave before midnight.
But I need two days for the return journey, because a new day starts when we arrive in Berlin. Is it allowed to use another day to travel home the rest of the day (as we will not be crossing another border)?
Finally, if we stay in Sweden, can we use a Global Pass day to visit another city in Sweden by train? Or do we have to cross a border?
And do you have any tips to keep in mind?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Silvia
