I would like to take an early train in the morning, but I will arrive late the day before. I cannot make a reservation online and have to go to the counter, so I would like to know what hours they are open.

Hmm, I think they are longer than 19.30 open? And 9am sounds very late… Doubt that this information is true or they changed it a lot during last years.
In Krakow I was definitely buying at 4am and so on tickets… not too long ago.
BTW: You can buy (all?) domestic reservations online on their website.
There was a website that said that domestic trains run 24 hours a day, and international trains run from 9:00 to 19:30. If you ask me, 9:00 seems like a late time.
