Thanks for this information. How long in advance are these informations available? For example, if a cancellation is planed for tomorrow, is it already visible today? Or only just before departure?
Do I get notifications for planned journeys?
I see one bug still hasn't been solved: using a "via” station in live mode forces a change at that station.
From a quick look I could find some issues but I guess it's hard/impossible to be perfect!
For example EC66 isn't cancelled from Brig to Bern tonight. It is replaced by a substitute unit (EC70066 according to the SBB app).
DB Navigator also wrongly shows the cancellation.
Is it an issue on the data SBB transmit (or doesn't) ? I still think it could confuse some travellers, always worth double checking on the company website/app. ;)
I think that only existing trains in the Rail Planner are updated, but unknown trains are not added. It were not possible to evaluate if the passes are valid or not.
In case of problems, you should first rely on local information. For example, if an ICE from Germany arrives late at Basel Bad Bf and does not continue to Basel SBB, it is sometimes possible to use the tram with the train tickets.Â

A: We receive the real-time data from the railway carriers, so we are dependent on what they send us. If a cancellation is already known and planned, it will show up. For some trains, we’ve seen that cancellations are known two weeks in advance, and they will already be visible in the Rail Planner App as cancelled. It can, of course, also happen that trains are cancelled just before departure. It really depends on what the carriers already know.

Q: Do you send notifications for cancellations or disruptions?
A: No, at this moment we do not send out (push) notifications for cancellations or disruptions yet. However, it is a feature that we are currently investigating with our team and considering to add in the future.
In case of problems, you should first rely on local information. For example, if an ICE from Germany arrives late at Basel Bad Bf and does not continue to Basel SBB, it is sometimes possible to use the tram with the train tickets.Â
There were already issues with Staff of BVB (BaselTram) not recognising the Interrailpass on the tram when a ICE was shortcutted in Basel Bad. But you have from Basel Bad the frequent S-Bahn from Lörrach via Basel Bad to Basel SBB.Â
