In case you missed it: Sleeping overnight on a train just got cozier.

You now have the chance to experience the “new generation Nightjet” on your way to Munich, Florence, and Rome and many other European destinations.

Passenger comfort was a top priority when designing the new Nightjet, according to OBB. “The new generation Nightjet makes overnight travel even more pleasant for you, with modern design, more privacy and greater comfort,” its website reads. “With a speed of up to 230 km/h, the new trains take you to many European cities overnight in a climate-friendly way.”

In a reimagination of overnight train travel, the new Night jet hopes to help you maximise sleep so you can arrive at your destination refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead.

There are a few different options for you to choose from, with the premium “sleeper car comfort plus” offering the chance to turn your cabin into a small hotel room, complete with a private toilet and shower.

The “sleeper car comfort cabins” come with 2 built-in beds, while the new “4-berth couchette car comfort” offers more space for groups or families. Solo travellers may opt for the new mini cabins, which provide a compact but private space. Compartments now come with a control panel with features such as light adjustment and a button that will allow you to call service staff.

Every new Nightjet includes a modern, accessible couchette compartment and toilet, with low-floor entrances.

If you find yourself wanting to work, read, or enjoy a midnight snack you will likely love the train’s cozy seating area, an ideal place for unwinding during the journey. Another plus for working on the train? The new Nightjet now offers free Wi-Fi and windowpanes designed to improve network reception.

For those traveling with sports gear or large bags, the new multifunctional carriages onboard have space for bicycles, luggage, and even skiing and snowboarding equipment.

The new Nightjet, which already has been running on routes linking Munich to Vienna and Hamburg and Vienna to Bregenz, is now possible to book for journeys to Bologna, Florence and Rome. Follow this link for information how to book.
