The trade union FNV has announced strikes at ProRail traffic control centers this week and next week. The first strike day affecting passengers is Wednesday morning 13 November, there will be no trains between 06:00 and 09:00 in Noord-Holland and parts of Flevoland and Utrecht. There will also be no trains between Leiden, Schiphol and Haarlem. On the High Speed Line (HSL), no trains will run between Rotterdam, Schiphol and Amsterdam.

Schiphol Airport station will have very limited train services during the strike: four trains per hour will run between Amsterdam Centraal and Schiphol. If possible, alternative means of transport should be used.

International train passengers will also be affected by the strike. On Tuesday and Wednesday, international timetables will be adjusted. An overview and travel advice can be found on the NS International website.

For the rest of the morning, be aware of delays and cancellations as it takes time to start up the train services.

Strikes will also take place on the following days:

- Friday 15 November: ProRail Utrecht and Amersfoort

- Monday 18 November: ProRail Rotterdam, The Hague and Roosendaal

- Wednesday 20 November: ProRail Eindhoven and Maastricht

- Friday 22 November: ProRail Zwolle, Groningen and Arnhem

Before the strike, the exact consequences will be mapped out. Plan your trip shortly before departure.
