The fact there is not a definitive answer is quite frustrating. I certainly don’t want to do anything I shouldn’t be doing - and wouldn’t - I wouldn’t risk a fine or lie in order to use the final day of my pass. But as I can add the suggested travel plans to the pass, I assume it is within the rules and Ts&Cs or the app wouldn’t allow it. Of course, I would love to use the final day of the pass - we’ve had a wonderful experience with it so far and would definitely use Interrail again. Thanks all for your help and thoughts.
There should be no problem for you to use your inbound travel day for a travel in the UK. But maybe it is better to use the travel day from London to Manchester than the other way around. In that case it is easier to claim that it is an inbound journey from London to your hometown. Yes, you’re right. That’s what I was thinking. Use it the other way round. I have only used one inbound/outbound day with our trip, with flying home from Spain. Many thanks.
Hmm, it doesn’t really feel appropriate according to the rules. Whistle stop tour to Paris and back in a day? 😉
Hi Myles, I am in a similar situation for the end of October. No sign yet (in Sept) of my preferred train but ticket have been released up to mid-Oct. For your July trip, when was the timetable eventually released? Hope your trip was a success. Many thanks.
That’s very helpful, thanks. Am I able to book my reservation for the TGV from Paris to Barcelona on the b-Europe site too? Like the Eurostar, thanks
That’s very helpful, thanks.
Are there recommended apps to book seat reservations for trains through France to Barcelona and then onto Alicante? Thanks in advance for help.
I have managed to book a Eurostar train using this method. Thanks so much for the tips. Does this need to stay in that app and is there a way of connecting it to the Interrail app? Thanks in advance. There is no connection between interrail app and reservations, on trains that require them you need to have both res and pass with train added, on non-res trains you just need the pass. It’s the seat reservations I have booked using the method described by Anna above. I show my pass on the Interrail app and the seat reservation on the app I booked my seats on? Is that right? Thanks
There is a limited number of pass holder seats on the Eurostar between London and mainland Europe. On popular departures and during high season those sell out weeks, and sometimes months in advance. The best place to see the availability of passholder seats and make reservations on the Eurostar is https://www.b-europe.com/EN/Booking/Pass#TravelWish If you don't get any result, press "later trains" and eventually you will find the next available connection. If you have a mobile pass you need to generate a Pass Cover Number in order to make the reservation at b-europe. You do that here in the PCN generator: https://community.eurail.com/news-and-announcements-39/pass-cover-number-generator-is-live-5653 I have managed to book a Eurostar train using this method.
