Sorry for the duplicate post. The issue has being solved. Thank you all.
Eventually, I applied to exchange these “Promo Passes” into regular 5 days in one month which is the exact same amount of cost I paid. Very tricky website, be aware of any unforeseen expectation. Thank you @thibcabe @ralderton @AnnaB for helping. 🙇
$227 sounds like the price for a Youth pass - that’s what the website defaults to. So I guess that explains the price on @thibcabe‘s screenshot. It looks like the reduced validity was explained on that page, but I think Eurail could make it clearer. It says you can travel up to 11 months later, with an asterisk that promotional passes might be different. This is a promotional pass, so it is different. It would be more helpful it they put the actual terms. The “Buy now, travel up to 11 months later” is a joke. That should be deleted and be replaced with the actual terms and conditions instead. So misleading😤
I have a possible explanation : the sale was applied to the new 2024 prices (although I don’t think they were in force on 9th December?) : current price is 342$ → minus 10% = 294$ That was a good guess. This pass definitely not saving me any dollars but costs $80 more pp than buying point to point tickets…..I will try to do the exchange. Thank you so much for helping.

Prices are not adding up… it’s weird I agree. 227$/251$ is the youth price though → adult was 284$ instead of 315$ so why did you pay 294... I want to know why too…That was the price I was asked to pay….-_-
As said on my post there was a sale at that point and you couldn’t have overlooked it → here is how the website looked : https://web.archive.org/web/20231129093831/https://www.eurail.com/en/eurail-passes/one-country-pass/german-rail-pass Sorry, the $227 was the youth rate. Adult was $284, $10 less than what I paid. Ok, I guess it was a promo price. I did not pay extra attention on the conditions for the sale below. thank you very much for the helpful info. Do you think it’s worth to pay the Plus upgrade?
There was indeed a sale last autumn from October to December : https://www.raileurope.com/en/blog/german-rail-pass-autumn-special-2023 (for example) The discounted passes must be activated by 1st February (but there always were regular ones available). As far as I remember it was explained on the website. You should be able to exchange them which is better than nothing! According to your link, the 7 days in one month pass costs $227, but I paid for $294 pp. Not sure if this is worth to clarify….
Where did you but the pass? Some promotion passes have different activation conditions, but that a pass bought in December must be activated by 1st of February sounds very strange. @Camilo. @Mukhammad Can you please look into this?

Thanks Please contact customer service here: https://eurail.zendesk.com/hc/en-001/requests/new Something must have gone wrong. Thanks for the comment, rvdborgt. Customer service replied and explained the passes are promo ones which has a different activation policy. However I was not informed about this during or after the booking. Now I can only apply for exchange or 85% refund which is not very fair.
