Hi allPlanning to be back on the rails for a two week trip around the end of August, so thought I’d see if anyone has any hot tips/suggestions. Family of four.We want to cover Copenhagen and Stockholm, and are thinking of adding Oslo to the mix if it’s worth it. Also want to do the Hamburg <> Stockholm sleeper (private couchette)No set dates as yet, and fairly flexible through AugustInitial thoughts are:London > BrusselsBrussels > Stockholm (via Hamburg and sleeper)Stockholm > CopenhagenThen back to London via Brussels (or maybe Amsterdam)or opposite way round: Brussels > Copenhagen > Stockholm > Brussels (via sleeper and Hamburg) Initial investigations suggest the sleeper is not yet up for booking. I also haven’t yet decided on whether to go interrail pass or not, but I suspect in order to get the Eurostar reservations I’ll need to decide this sooner than the sleeper booking opens up so may not really be able to price up properly. Assume the sleeper pricing is
Hi allTaking the Nightjet from Bruxelles Midi to Vienna with the family on Wed 9th August, using Interrail passes. Have a Eurostar arriving at 18.02 in Bruxelles Midi, and the NJ425 was due to leave at 19.32. OBB have just told us it has been brought forward to 18.26...Can anyone tell me what platform at Bruxelles Midi the Nightjet leaves from? And what the transfer time might be? 24 minutes might be pushing it...I can exchange Eurostar ticket, but only available is 9am, and with a fee… Thanks
Hi allI’ve just booked the following journey. I selected compartment with 4 beds and assumed this would be a 4-berth couchette. But when I got the tickets, it shows seats 21-24. My understanding is that the numbering for a 4-berth would be 21/22/25/26…Any thoughts? Anyone have an up to date nightjet seating plan? Thanks
Hi allBooking some routes as above - it’s simple to book reservations (even when not required), but on any of these journeys, is there a way to choose seats (either prior to booking reservation or after)? Travelling as a family of four, so keen to try and book tables or at least together.I saw something on the OBB site detailing seat selection when booking on the app, but perhaps that’s not available for, for example, Vienna to Budapest? Can’t find it on the app when booking.Any advice appreciated, thanks.
HI allAfter two weeks round Italy by rail in Easter, we’re now heading to the continent again during summer holidays for three weeks. Just hoping there may be some good suggestions for routing, as I’m also hoping to fit in a sleeper. We’re leaving from London and would like to cover the following for definite:Belgium - Bruges/Ghent/BrusselsCzechia - PragueGermany - Berlin (maybe somewhere else)Netherlands - AmsterdamOpen to other suggestions if it makes routing easier, but we would quite like to get a sleeper or two in. We are two adults and two kids (11 and 14), and would need either two 2-berths or a 4-berth couchette. I know some routes don’t have 4-berths. Have looked at the new Brussels to Berlin, and there are still seats - appreciate it’s not part of interail at the moment. Any other sleeper suggestions?I’ve also been considering Stockholm - I know there’s a sleeper from Hamburg. But my concern is that I’d be going in and coming back out the same way (maybe not by sleeper), which
Appreciate we’re all different, but I’m planning to spend Easter holidays with family heading from London to Italy. Will probably be London - Paris then on via some route to cover Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome.Return Eurostar at the moment is very expensive (booking late), so wondered if interrail pass would work best. Would like to go one way via Milan and the other via Zurich and the mountains…Are Italy trains relatively cheap on walkup prices?Oh and one of my kids is under 12 so the pass would be free...
