I am trying to book the following and when you get to travellers details it bounces you back to the search section. I have tried booking each on their own, with the same problem.

There are direct TGV from Paris to Milan, you can book this trains only via SNCF call center (press #85 for english) or at Ticket Offices of SNCF, SBB CFF FFS, SNCB/NMBS. Same for the TGV Paris-Geneve.

For the trains in Italy Milan-Firenze and if you run via Geneva the EC Geneve-Milan you can book via tickets.obb.at use the ONE WAY TICKET option and at adult choose the discount “Interrail/Eurail Globalpass”.

EC is 11€ in 2nd class, about 15€ in 1st /seat.

Frecciarossa is 10€/seat

The advice from the experienced travellers in the community is to only make your reservations through Interrail/Eurail if you have no other option. Please read more below.

Here is some useful information from the experienced travellers in the Community regarding both reservations and activation of pass and travel days.

Reservations

The advice from the experienced travellers in the community is to use other ways to make reservations than the Interrail/Eurail website.  You can look at the guide in the link:

https://community.eurail.com/train-connections-reservations-47/how-to-get-reservations-105

If you, after having looked at the guide, have questions about how to make specific reservation, please give your travel details (departure date, time and route) preferably in a new topic, and you will get advice.

Please note that Interrail/Eurail charges an extra fee of 2 EUR per person and ticket in addition to the fee for the seat reservation.

Activation of pass

During the activation process, when you choose the start day of the validity of the pass, the first day of the validity period is automatically made a travel day, even if you don't enter a journey, the advice is therefore not to activate the pass before the first travel day as you only can deactivate the pass before 00.00 on the day the validity starts. If your travel plans change in the last moment you will loose travel days if you have activated the pass in advance.

It can be wise to make a test and activate the pass with a start date well in the future and then deactivate the pass immediately, just to see that everything works.

 Activation of travel day

The advice from the experienced travellers in the community is also never to activate a travel day, that is connect a journey to your pass, until just before boarding the train, otherwise you might loose a travel day if your travel plans change in a late stage  You can't delete a travel day in the past. A travel day can only be deleted until 23.59 CET the day before the travel day.

Sometimes it already helps if you do in in 3 steps-as different sites have to be opened and the app just links on. PLus that nr 1 has quota-quite small-and if its taken the app cannot handle the rest seats (higher price).

You are already to late for some trains as Eurail can only issue the reservations as paperreservations that need to be delivered :/

Thank you seewulf.  This pass is useless to us then.

@Paul Amsler But you don't need to make the reservation at Eurail. If you look at the link I added in an earlier answer above there are several ways to make reservations.

We suffered a technical error during this time which was thankfully resolved a few days after it was first reported. While we always try to resolve technical errors asap, you can always either book these reservations locally at the station, or check out the alternative reservation methods. This post on the Community is also highly useful when it comes to make reservations. All the above reservations can be issued in electronic form.
