Hi, My wife and I want to take TGV from Lausanne, Swiss to Paris Gare de Lyon. We already have a eurail pass (activated), and we follow the instruction to add traveler into the”trip”. The problem is that when if we book the seat reservation for each person, the price is EUR 41 (first class). but if we want to book seat reservations together to make sure we can seat aside, the price will become EUR 160. this is not reasonable to me. Is there any advice for us?

We hope we can buy the normal price and seat together.

thanks a lot.

There is currently a bug on the website and higher prices appear. Add both seats to your basket and then during checkout the correct price should appear. It shouldn't cost more than 39€ (+2€ booking fee) per person.

If you'd like to save money take any train to Geneva, then a regional train to Bellegarde where you board the TGV for Paris : in 1st class 10€ limited fare, then 20€. Reservations within France can also be bought here : https://travel.b-europe.com/Eurail-GE/en/booking-tgv#TravelWish

First of all, thank you for your advice.

May I know, if we still wish to take this train (to save travel time and effort, we will have luggages) is there any website other than eurail.com to book seat reservations for us (seat aside)? thanks again.

There is no other website that can reserve the Switzerland - France TGVs.

The only other option is to phone SNCF https://www.sncf.com/en/customer-service/contact-us/telephone
