I contacted Trenitalia today, no refund possible because the ticket from Milano to Bari was a single ticket. According to the guy I spoke I needed a reservation including the previous (delayed) train. I'v never heard or read about this. We made our reservation to Milano via OBB because of the additional sleeper cabin in the Nightjet. The seat reservation for the train from Milano to Bari I made via Eurail. When I explained this to the Trenitalia employe he said that I should have changed my reservation via the Eurail app before the train departure in Milano. I tried but couldn't because there where no standard tickets available anymore that day. I also called Trenitaly that morning and waited for more than 15 minutes but I didn't speak to anyone. Is it true that you can't get a refund with a single ticket and that you need a full travel reservation (not for every train is a reservations necessary/possible)?
Okay, Thanks for your reply. I will try to get the refund there.
What if the connecting railcompanies are not the same, is somebody responsible for the extra costs and can I get a refund? Today the nightjet from Utrecht to Basel was delayed for 2 hours. In Basel the SBB information Office gave us the plan for the quickest way to Milano and told us there to go to the Frecce information point to change the seetreservation for the Frecciarossa to Bari. On our way to Milano I tried to change our reservation via Interrail reservation, but there were no seets available according to the Interrail site, so changing was not possible. In Milano Frecce confirmed this and told us there were no standaard (interrail) reservations available for the rest of the day so we had to buy businessclass tickets and pay the full price. Can I get a refund for these tickets, and if so by which company?
Hi,I used your text suggestion. Today I receive Attica's Helpdesk reaction:Unfortunately the upgrade can be made only onboard .Please follow this link : https://www.bluestarferries.com/en-gb/offers-discounts/sail-railThe Bleu Star Ferries Sail & Rail information mentions that there is a 30% discount on possible on board upgrades! You also found this out. So from their perspective they are right. However, this limitation is not mentioned at the Interrail websites. I found a Sail and rail link on the Dutch version of the Interrail Greeks Island Passes website https://www.interrail.eu/nl/interrail-passes/one-country-pass/greece-passes/greek-islands. This link is located under the international ferry conditions and not under the domestic ferry conditions, furthermore this link goes to Superfast Ferries https://www.superfast.com/en-gb/special-offers/sail-rail instead of Blue Star and Superfast doesn't mention the ‘possible on board’ limitation. So, how could I ever have known this?
Thank's for your tip. I'll book by mail then and will let you all know if the company agrees.
For example: Piraeus - Rhodes, July 17th, departure 18.00 hours, whole cabin 4 people incl window.
Hi,Thanks for answering my question so quickly. We got the Italy - Greece crossing free of charge (including a cabin), so there's no problem on that crossing.Another question about the domestic bookings. For the domestic routes between the Islands we want to add a cabin (night crossings). Without a cabin the crossing is free of charge. With the cabin included the crossing has the same price as a crossing without a Greek Island Pass. How to get the free of charge crossing including the discount for the cabin? Thanks in advance,Martin
