Dear community, I am planning to travel from Brussels to Innsbruck and return. Would the German Rail Pass be valid on this trip? I am confused by reading this condition on the website “You cannot use the German Rail Pass to travel to or from Germany or any of the included destinations outside of Germany. This Pass is only valid for travel with participating train, ferry and public transport companies in Germany and some participating international trains.” https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/one-country-pass/german-rail-pass . Does anyone have any experience with this kind of trip? I’m especially worried the Pass is only valid in one direction of the trip (only trips departing from Germany going to Brussels/Innsbruck, and not the other way around). Thank you for your help!
Hello, I’m planning to go to France (Lille-Lyon) and am curious if anyone has experience with the following: I’m comparing booking a seat reservation via the travel.b-europe website and via the interrail website, and I am particularly interested in the refund policy. I found this:Interrail website: cost of seat reservation: 12 euros, yet I did not find whether you could get a full refund when cancelling before departure. Travel.b-europe: cost of seat reservation: 20 euros, and it seems you could get full refund if you cancel before departure (so-called “High Flex” fare, yet there aren’t many details about it to be found, so I am not so sure about this one either).Could anyone confirm or correct the information I found, as it could be possible I will have to cancel this trip because of personal reasons, and that’s why I am searching for the most convenient ticket option. Thank you very much for your help!
Hello! I have a question that perhaps only Belgian Interrailers might be able to answer. I have a 2 month Global pass for this summer and I am planning to do several trips with it, each starting and ending in Belgium. I recently found out that I will need tickets for the Belgian parts of the trips, as I will be able to use my inbound/outbound days for only one trip. Now how can I do this?In this community I learnt that Aachen Süd (Gr) is the border point I’ll have to use for e.g. going from Bruxelles Midi to Köln Hbf, but how can I buy this ticket? I am not able to enter it as a destination on the website of NMBS/SNCB.Or are there perhaps any other options you can suggest? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi everyone,I bought a two month global pass to use this summer. I started adding some journeys to the trip connected to my pass. In addition, I already made some seat reservations for some of these trains via bahn.de.I was thinking to activate my pass on the day I would take my first train this summer, as I am not 100% sure which day this will be. But now I am in doubt that this would be too late: Is it possible that when you don’t activate your pass well in advance, it may be too late to actually get on board as all interrailer spots are already “taken” for that train? If so, then I’d like to activate the pass now and choose a start date somewhere in July. Just in case it would be necessary: is it later also possible to advance the start date chosen upon activation?Thank you!
