I am quietly working out my plans to travel from Brussels to Naples. The travel date is not fixed yet, but will normally be somewhere at the end of August ... and 1st week of September. The route I have in mind:Brussels North - Cologne (ICE)Cologne - Basel (ICE)Basel - Lugano (IC)Lugano - Milan (RE)Departure 6u32am, arrival 17u17pm.If I would like to reserve a seat for the ICE, I pay 5.30 euros for 1st class per person, per journey.I wouldn't want to do that, but my travel partner isn't convinced about trains, so maybe better to reserve a seat after all. Otherwise I risk having to change seats several times.1/Why does the SBB travel planner not show the train at 16u02 pm departing from Lugano in August ?Is that because not all travel times have been communicated from Italy yet?2/Would the SBB travel planner show a connection via Bern and Brig on August 26, because the 16:02 train from Lugano to Milan is not (yet) available?3/Is it easy to get from Milan Central to Milan Porta Garibaldi?O

Hi all,I am currently travelling in Lithuania. I know that the connections are not possible from Poland and yet took a bus to come. However, the application shows that it is possible to travel through the inner main cities - for example, Vilnius-Klaupedia, Vilnius-Šiauliai…Moreover I read on related topics that it was possible to travel in Lithuania with Interrail. And on the website, it is written that bookings are not compulsory. However this morning, I took a train to Šiauliai and the controller validated my ticket, but she said I was missing the booking. Then I had to pay a bus to come back because they were no booking available anymore. My question is, how do you normally travel with Interrail in Lithuania, without the booking fees ? At the station, I was told that the booking was not for free. But in the app, it is not written that a booking is mandatory and as I wrote, it is even mentionned that it us not compulsory. Thanks in advance for your answers !

HelloI am going around in circles regarding which private operators in Sweden accept the pass. The list on the IR site says one thing, ACP (another retailer) shows a different one and when I asked about trains run by Kalmar länstrafik the train operator said they did despite it not being listed! Screenshots of lists / Facebook chat conversations. One operator Mälartåg who operate around Västerås aren’t listed. Their social media says contact SJ as “they manage IR in Sweden” and SJ can’t help.Years ago when I sold European Rail tickets, we had access to the InterRail annexe which had far more comprehensive information than was ever published on the pass guides / T&Cs. Is there access to this at all to verify the full list? Thank youPhil Richards.
Hello everyone!I’m planning my trip this August and I noticed that I could benefit from some ferry discounts to travel between Greece and Italy (30-100% off) on board Superfast and ANEK ferries. As I read in the site: “As a Pass holder you can get from 30% off (surcharges for port taxes and fuel apply) up to 100% off (if you have a Global Pass).” I have a 15days straight pass (2nd class) but when I tried to book the tickets I could only get a 30% discount… Note: I’m planning to travel from Ancona (Italy) to Patra (Greece) at 18th August.
Hi All, I am travelling around Italy in April using the Eurail Pass.Is there a list of stations that are covered?Does the pass have limitations on which places you can stop?Is it only the major cities it can be used for?I am planning to visit a small town in the Alps (Chatillon), can i use the pass to get here? Paul.
Hello! I’m trying to make a reservation for the Bernina Express, but in the Eurail webpage (Benefits in Switzerland) it says that the reservation costs are 14CHF in summer and 10CHF in winter and when trying to buy the tickets directly at the RhB webpage and adding the Eurail Pass in “Reduction” while adding to cart, the reservation cost is 24 CHF… Does anyone know which is the mistake or how I can get the 10/14 CHF cost? I´m travelling in april. Thanks!
Hello Crowd! At the beginning of February 2022 I would like to travel from Berlin to Istanbul. I have already seen that the train between Sofia and Istanbul is not running right now. Alternative is the bus. Do any of you have more detailed information if the train will run again in the near future? Or why there is nothing going on right now? I have planned to travel the following route: Berlin - Vienna - Budapest - Craiova - Vidin - Sofia - Istanbul Do you think this connection is cool? Have any of you ever traveled from Germany to Turkey and would like to share your experiences? Thanks!
The employee I had on the phone yesterday claims that you can't upload the tickets you buy at the counter in the nmbs app??? Why are the conditions of the ticket not on the printed PDF document, but only in the PFD document that you receive by email?Something that NMBS is not aware of, or what do you think? There is 1 barcode on the document, for 2 travelers. According to the counter clerk, it is perfectly possible to scan this barcode twice. According to her, this certainly works in Belgium, so it should also work abroad. Can anyone confirm this? The employee could only choose between:Seat, berth place, and bed place. This was very unclear for the employee, for myself, because the options are worded very differently on the Trenitalia site.Only because of the amount I am currently somewhat certain that they are the right places. The program of NMBS did not provide any options for a berth place, so prices cannot be compared. However, there are still berth places available on the Trenital
Bonjour from Evian! Could I please get some help? I want to go to Hotel Radiana today in in La Léchère and having a hard time finding the proper itinerary. I know Eurail planner app isn’t ideal for planning but it has MUCH better itineraries (bringing me to petit. Coeur La Lechere L Bains… which might be a bus stop) than I’m finding on Google Maps, SNCF or Rome2rio directly. Unfortunately, Omio isn’t giving me any options either. I wanted to check in because this area is more rural and I’m afraid to get stranded so that’s why i’m here! I’m okay getting a mix of buses as well but still can’t find the proper bus site… I tried SNCF Bus but couldn’t find the itinerary for today. Please help! Thank you in advance! EDITED TO ADD:Oh! I should add that the Hotel recommended I get to these two stations But said I mauy hve to take a cab from Moutiers. moutiersnotre dame de BriancoenBut none of these are in ANY of the itineraries i’m pulling up so i’m not sure what route to go with. The front des

The Eurail Planning app says there are half a dozen trains from Annecy France to Geneva Switzerland on Sunday. However, when I check the French Oui-scnf app, it shows no trains Trainline also shows no trains at all. A local fellow says there are no trains or not dependable, and recommends the bus. But the Eurail app still shows these train trips - they are TER (SCNF) trains with numbers and stops listed out. Can anyone explain what is going on? Is the planning app wrong, or is SCNF wrong? I am not sure if the train office will be open on a Sunday to ask them.

Hello everyone, I'm new to Interrail. I only took one ride from Cologne to Vienna at night with my school class so far. And one time to Amsterdam for travel. The other times I just drove from work to home...Now I want to go on my own, and I'm wondering how long is your perfect train ride?I thought that I would prefer to go 5 maybe 7 hours maximum, when I don't take a night train. My first idea is Denmark, Sweden and maybe Norway. I'm now playing with the rail planner app and try to choose routes…What is your experience? What is a comfortable travel time for you? Thanks and best wishes,Polkadot
