Whether you can enter Norway depends on whether you are vaccinated or not and from where/how you travel to Norway. You can check on https://www.regjeringen.no/en/topics/koronavirus-covid-19/travel-to-norway/id2791503/.Regarding the train from Stockholm to Narvik: unfortunately, there aren’t any cross-border trains from Sweden to Norway due to restrictions by the Norwegian authorities. Trains end at the last station on the Swedish side of border (Riksgränsen).
Now I also found some instructions published on the interrail website: https://www.interrail.eu/en/support/technical-difficulties-mobile-passes
This was the reply I got by the costumer service. I do not know if it is a general solution that works for everyone but it worked for me so far! When trying to add my pass again after following the instructions, I first got the same error message (“This pass is already on your device”) but then the pass actually showed up.
Of course you can travel in the same compartment. Just add a second passenger when booking the ticket and you will be placed in the same compartment (and pay the same price as if you were traveling on your own) since it is for up to 6 people.
Yes, it’s just like @seewulf describes, Norway does not allow any cross-border trains since the start of the pandemic. This is very disappointing but it does not look like there will be any changes in the near future. You can check Flixbus and Bus4you to go to Oslo but you need to pay extra for them.
In the past I have had the same issue for those type cross-border trains (ICE from Deutsche Bahn/TGV). The most reliable thing seems to be to go to a ticket office at a (German) train station and reserve a seat there if you can’t make it work online.
You can best do it via Snälltåget’s own website https://www.snalltaget.se/en by using the promotion code INTERRAIL when booking the ticket. The only thing is that (also due to the pandemic) you can not book a single bed in a shared compartment for the Berlin-Hamburg-Malmö-Stockholm route. You can only choose between booking a full sleeping compartment (for up to 6 people), a comfort seat or a standard seat.
Thanks for your reply, I sent a private message to you now.
Hello!Unfortunately I can not share any good experiences with the mobile pass, I wouldn't recommend using it at all. I was also disappointed that they removed priority shipping options since there is usually nothing that could go wrong with a paper pass. One thing you could try is buying the ticket at a local train station, that's something I used to do a few years back. Perhaps this option still available, at least at bigger ticket offices…Good luck for your trip!
