Hi,We are from Australia and have no recent experience with European train travel other than managing to catch the Eurostar from London to Paris last Sunday. We are catching the 9.40am train from Paris to Barcelona this Saturday leaving from Paris Gare Lyon. What time should we arrive at Paris Gare Lyon? We prefer to leave ample time so that we are not stressed, have a bit of contingency time. We are travelling with four children (aged 10-15) and have four suitcases. Also do I assume correctly that this train originates in Paris, and that therefore there will be ample boarding time?
Hi,I am just a little confused about what I will need to do in order to be able to board the train. If anyone is able to advise me I would be most grateful.I have a pass with five travel days. I have activated the pass. As per the advice on this forum, I have not yet activated the travel day. My first travel day is Eurostar, London to Paris - I have seat reservations (and have a physical copy of these). When I get to the station this Sunday, I will activate the travel day. Is there anything else I need to do in order to travel? Do I need to add the journey to my pass, or do the physical seat reservations suffice?
Is there a phone number for Eurail customer service? I have tried the zen desk approach - received a couple of messages and a promise that they would investigate, but now no further contact.Alternatively is there a way to escalate the complaint?
Hi, We want to travel from Barcelona to Geneva on Thursday 29 June. The suggested route is:10.33 Barcelona to Montpellier Sant Roc arriving at 13:41.13.53 Montpellier Sant Roc to Lyon Part Dieu arriving at 15:51.16.38 Lyon Part Dieu arriving at Geneva at 18:35. I am concerned because the connection time at Montpellier is only 12 minutes. We are a family of six on a five week trip, so will have a reasonable degree of luggage - probably four suitcases. Is the connection time in Montpellier Sant Roc feasible? If we miss the connection in Montpellier Sant Roc at 13:53 because the Barcelona train is late will we be allowed to get on the 14:51 (ie fact they transfer our reservations from the 13:53 to the 14:51)? Would really appreciate any advice re: the above.
Hi,Very much hoping that someone can help me as I have not yet had a response from Eurail Customer Service…Yesterday (as it was 90 days out) I tried to book seat reservations from Paris to Barcelona for my family of six. The Eurail system kept coming up with an error at the payment stage. Info on the Eurail web site suggested that the reason for the error was because we were trying to book for six people in one transaction. So I split my party in two and booked for three people at a time. Only problem is, even though I did the bookings straight away after one another, the seats ended up in different carriages. This is not ideal as it’s an eight hour journey and we want to sit near our kids. Is there any way that we can change the seats? ie a phone number to call where I can speak to a person In a couple of days time I need to book the seat reservations from Barcelona to Paris. Is there a way to book this so that we can sit all together (or at least in the same carriage)?I have carefull
