And does anyone know how long it takes, roughly, once at Zurich HB to get from platform 31 to platform 15? Just a few minutes. Platform 31 is in the tunnel but there are quick ways to get to the surface. Just follow the signs. Thanks!

Excellent - thank you. I’ll check it out. *Train nerds rule!
Bratislava is indeed a fine place for a day trip from Vienna. There is a regular rail service that takes about 1hr 15min each way for about 15 euro return. Bus services take a little longer and a similar price. Thank you!
Thank you.Yes, looking at it I think DB are favourable towards families. I shall go ahead and make the other seat reservation!
Thank you! This forum is the best.
Thank you. And they definetly won’t say we can’t travel from there?!
That’s great - thanks everyone. So I think I’ve decided…Diesen to Basel, Basel to Mulhouse, Mulhouse to Dijon! Then that’s just the one domestic TGV, as you say, so cheaper and it doesn’t really take that much longer.
If now is too early when is the best time to try do you think?
Thank you, I’ll check it out - it’s so confusing! We’re basically trying to get from Lake Ammersee in Germany to Dijon! So i was thinking, Munich to Zurich, Zurich to Dijon.
Thank you so much for your help. All booked now. One sleeper cabin for three of us, and my partner in a single cabin! Phew!
