On a maximum of 2 travel day you can also travel in your country of residence. On a travel day (00.00-23.59 CET) you can board as many trains as you like. That's not 100% correct. With a 10 days within two months pass actually 4 of the 10 days can be used to freely travel at your country of residence instead of the usual 2. Travellers from some countries, where it, from some parts, might be difficult to reach the border in one travel day, like Sweden, now, as a test, get extra outbound/inbound travel days. These extra outbound/inbound travel days should only be used when the traveller really needs more than one day to leave/return home. The days are not for traveling around in your home country Things are interesting. I just had a look at the latest pass from my son and it showing 0/3 inbound/outbound days for his 10 days within two months pass (and we are from Austria).

ÖBB reservations are non refundable, but they are really cheap and the options you have are:- Get a new 2nd Class reservation for 3€ at www.oebb.at- Just hop on the train and see if you get a free seat in 2nd class. And if you don't, pay for a 1st class upgrade in the train. It depends how long you plan to stay in Austria. But Austria is one of the few countries where it does make sense to travel with Interrail 1st class. Because you easily get a seat in any train without reservation and you get free lounge access for your travel days too.
Die einfachste Lösung ist einmal auf www.bahn.de nachzuschauen, wie die aktuellen Verbindungen aussehen und danach zu Entscheiden ob. bzw. welche Reservierung man umbuchen muss.
The second weird thing that’s happening in the Web-Gui with trains from France without seat reservation is that I’m getting results with apparently non existing trains like the TER50419 from Rouen that doesn’t show up on SNCF connect.
I’m somewhat confused. The high-speed trains from Paris to Amsterdam are fully booked as usual and the Rail Planer offers me to take the following route for the 30.7.: IC 9339: 12:22 PARIS NORD - BRUXELLES-MIDI Where do you see this train as "IC”? My app (version 31.7.0) shows it as "THA”. Have you tried searching with the ‘No seat reservations required’ filter? Things work fine without it. But I’m getting weird results in the web-gui once I activate it for trip from Paris.
You're not the first one to say that Thalys trains show as IC trains so looks like something is off… Here are your options : - TGV to Lille-Flandres (10€ limited fare but pretty much always available or 20€ afterwards) + reservation-free IC trains via Kortrijk and Antwerp Thanks and getting 10€ tickets for the TGV to Lille-Flandres was surprisingly easy.
If you are completely new to Paris you probably should add another 10-15 minutes of extra time travel time to account for the possibility of getting lost in the Metro and RER labyrinth beneath Paris Gare Lyon.
