When you make a reservation outside of the app (train station or by phone), is the QR-code on your ticket the only one you have to show to the conductor? I added 3 journeys to my trip of which two are with a reservation which I booked at the train station and by phone. In the app I only got a QR-code for the first journey (without the reservation). Is that ok? Or do I need to do something else to also generate a ticket in the app for the journeys with the reservation?
Hello, I have a question about this as well. Probably the same. I did read the guide for using a mobile pass, but still have this question just to be sure and I can’t find a clear answer. I planned my trip and added three journeys. Two of them required a reservation. I couldn’t find them on the interrail planner, or couldn’t make the reservations for the train I wanted so I went to the station and purchased the ticket there. The other ticket I made a reservation by phone and got a ticket in my mailbox. So now if I go to the travel day I get a QR-code for the first journey because that is one without reservation directly on my mobile pass. For the other two, I don’t have a QR-code in my mobile pass, but I suppose the QR-codes on the external tickets that I bought are the ones I’ll have to show to the conductor. Am I right? Or do I need to link these paper tickets to my mobile pass somehow? Thanks in advance
@Nanja Thank you for your answer.I booked the train through SNCF. With NMBS they told me it wasn’t possible to make a reservation by phone anymore if you want to cross the border between France and Spain. It had changed. But I suggest to follow travelers that they give it a try. Maybe it changes again :). Anyway, with SNCF it was quite easy. I didn’t have a visa or mastercard, so I had to get the train ticket in the station, but the man on the phone made the reservation and gave me a code. I went to Lille to pick up the ticket and asked a man to help me with the ticket machine. It was quite simple. In 5 minutes I had my ticket. Once you now how it works, it should be possible to make a phone call in advance, reserve a ticket and then go to the station and pick it up with the code at a machine. But I think it is not possible in the small stations. Not all the stations have this machine. Even easier is to purchase a mastercard or visa and just make the reservations by phone. That is wha
@Nanja,I want to book a ticket from Lyon to Girona on the 6th of June. I thought I could make the reservation but when I wanted to checkout it said there is not enough time left to send the ticket although I still have nine days. They suggested to give another European address, but I live in Belgium so I don’t think that is too far away. Do you have an idea what could be the reason for this?
Hello Angelo, Thank you for your answer. It is really difficult to find good train connections as I want to leave within 10 days and all the tgv’s seem to be full. I called with nmbs international but did’t get any wiser accept for the fact that they told me they are not able to book tickets from Belgium to Spain anymore. Or to print at least. Which means I have two options, buying my ticket in the station in France on the day I am travelling which seems to me like a big risk that there will be no place available + I have only 35 minutes to transbord… Or they send it with the post? But when do I get it then and what if it doesn’t arrive in time…?Is it possible to book tickets with the interrailpas directly on the SNCF site? And how do I do that? How do I get the discount. Maybe then I get an é-ticket? Or not? Is it not possible at all?Or maybe more general, how do I use my interrail pass on other websites to make reservations.
