Hi there,

We’re planning to use a global 7 day pass this summer to travel from the United Kingdom to mainland Europe. Our trip is as follows:

Day 1: Lancaster UK to London (overnight in London)

Day 2: London to Amsterdam

Days 3 - 7: Travel in Europe

Day 8: Paris to London to Lancaster UK.

I want to know:

  1. Whether the Lancaster to London outbound trip is covered by the global pass, or not, because the whole trip from Lancaster to Amsterdam is split over 2 days?
  2. Whether the Paris to Lancaster trip is covered by the global pass, because it takes place in a single day?
  3. 3. If I buy the pass now and activate it so I can plan the trip and book seat reservations, how long is it valid for? I.e. will it still be valid in July when we actually travel?

Thanks so much!

  1. You're using the train in the UK on day 1, 2 and 8. That's one day too many. I suggest to travel to Lille on day 1. On day 2, travel to Amsterdam via Antwerp (no reservations needed).
  2. Paris to Lancaster isn't a problem.
  3. Please never activate the pass (or any travel days) in advance. It's not needed to book reservations, has no advantages and can only cause mistakes. The pass will be valid for the validity period (1 month in your case) from the start date you choose.

Amazing - thanks so much! I like the suggestion for the outward trip 😀
