Newbies traveling from Gothenburg to Amsterdam

Hi, we are newbies to train travel in Europe. We'd like to travel from Gothenburg to Amsterdam and stop in Copenhagen and Bremen on the way to sightsee for a night or two in each place. We’re not sure which sites to go to to find the best price tickets and we’re not sure whether to pay for each leg individually or buy a 4-day Eurail pass. We have tried googling but we are overwhelmed trying to figure out how to find information. Can anybody help? We are 59 and 61 years old.

I would say that a 4-day Global pass should make the most sense. You get a lot of flexibility with it while last-minute tickets are expensive. Reservations are also not required in your entire itinerary, although recommended on cross-border trains like Copenhagen - Hamburg and Osnabrück - Amsterdam.

Advance tickets may be a bit less expensive but as the name suggests you'll have to buy them in advance and you'll be tied to a specific train. Check fares on :

- oresundstag.se Gothenburg - Copenhagen

- bahn.com Copenhagen - Bremen - Amsterdam

I'd recommend reading this link : https://www.seat61.com/how-to-use-a-eurail-pass.htm

Do not hesitate for further questions. :)
