Hi.

My friend and I are 62 and will be doing our second Interrail adventure in May/June next year.

We are thinking of going to Prague on the night train for our first destination.

However, it does have a reputation as a party/stag destination; is it possible to be central yet still be able to enjoy our time without being surrounded by lairy fancy dress parties.

I think its fantastic that people enjoy themselves, but that sort of thing is way gone for me!

Out of summer, it’ll be less crowded. (I went in January, which was cold of course, but I had the castle practically to myself at sunset)

Any time of year, to beat the crowds you want to avoid the Old Town square for eating and drinking. Visit early in the morning if you can, then walk or take the tram a couple of stops to find somewhere to eat.

Sure there are stag and hen parties, but in my experience they’re not particularly numerous. It’s just the sheer weight of tourists that make the city crowded. Obviously, you’ll be avoiding the cheap bars and restaurants that appeal to that crowd.
