Unanswered questions

I have just received an email saying that I urgently need to set up my pass as it will expire in 8 weeks - I only bought it about two months ago. Anyway - I bought a 7 day pass to use in a month and I have to activate it by the 23rd of march. My 1st day of travel will be the 1st of April. I think I have set it up, the last step I had to do is activate it. Do I need to activate it now? I hope this makes sense.

Bij opvraging van treinreistijden voor een traject krijg ik telkens de boodschap ‘oeps, er is iets verkeerd gegaan’. De timing van de trips is feb-mrt-apr 2026, dus zeker niet te ver in de tijd. Iemand enig idee hoe dit komt?

Hallo, ich möchte am 16.04.26 von 1. Karlsruhe nach Strasbourg, 2. von Strasbourg nach Lyon  und 3.von Lyon weiter nach BarcelonaIch habe eine Interrail Ticket und brauche nur noch Reservierungen.. Ab wann kann man die Sitzplätze reservieren und am besten wo für welchen Abschnitt? DB zeigt beispielsweise an das die Reservierung erst ab 01.04 möglich ist ? Bei SNCF finde ich keine Möglichkeit zu hinterlegen dass ich nur Reservierung benötige? Danke Grüße Peter

Hallo zusammen,​ich möchte hier mal meine Erfahrungen mit dem Interrail Global-Pass teilen. Ich habe das Ticket zum Glück bei einem Wettbewerb gewonnen. Das war mein großes Glück, denn so musste ich „nur“ die Hotels bezahlen. Hätte ich den vollen Preis für das Ticket auch noch selbst bezahlt, wäre ich über die fehlende Flexibilität und die unlogischen Regeln extrem wütend gewesen.​Das Problem mit der aktuellen Regel:Mein ursprünglicher Plan war eine große Europa-Tour: Von Biessenhofen nach Wien, dann kurz zurück nach Hause (Wäsche waschen, ausruhen), dann weiter nach Frankreich und später nach Spanien. Aber das ist mit dem Global-Pass verboten, weil man im eigenen Land nur zweimal fahren darf (einmal raus, einmal rein).​Besonders für mich ist das eine große Barriere: Ich habe eine Behinderung und kann nicht viele Wochen am Stück alleine unterwegs sein. Hi, i was on a trip earlier this month and left my country of residence once and reentered. the 22. of january i would spend my last two days of travel, ive read that i cant exit and reenter my country with my interrail pass again. I was looking at a ticket where i would pay for a ticket to padborg and continue on the train with my interrail pass. Would a ticket to padborg suffice and i would leave the country on the interrail pass? i would buy a ticket to a stop thats right over the border, but the train im looking at only stops there between copenhagen and hamburg. (Padborg is bordering the danish german border but is technically within denmark)

Help! I am looking at planning a trip for next summer, both myself and my partner will be 27 and our 2 children age 8 and 2. Im trying to get an idea of price but cant seem to add 2 youths (the category we fall into) and 2 children when looking at ticket prices. Can we not travel with children as we are not 28 or over? Or would we have to buy 2 adult tickets even though were not 28. I hope this make sense

I am planning to travel for roughly 2 weeks through switzerland and italy with a friend. We have purchased a 10 day in 2 months global pass for that trip. We plan to travel at the beginning of October.For Switzerland i mostly have enough ideas. But for Italy i could use some more ideas. Coming from switzerland by train, we will start from Milano.At the moment i am planning with the following destinations for italy:Neapel (already have plans what to do there) Palermo Siracusa or Catania (already have some plans on what to do there) Rome Between Rome and Milano i plan to travel on the west coast of italy and between Neapel (Maybe Bari) and Milano i plan to travel on the east coast of italy. I am mainly looking for some destination on those 2 route. Mostly the second one.Venice is not planned because we have both visited it already

I’m currently planning the first leg of my trip to Europe in May.  At the moment, I am looking into home stays and hostels, but haven’t booked anything yet.  My flight lands in CDG at about 8am.  If I book a hostel, I may not be able to check in until 2pm.  Can anybody give me some suggestions for what do to early morning in Paris?  Is Roissy-en-France worth a visit? Or is it better to head straight into Paris?  How long would it take for me to get from the airport to city centre?Anywhere, some lowkey exploring, where I can go and maybe sit down, eat and take a break?Arriving this early in the morning, I’ll still have my bags with me.

4 Years Ago I booked a Eurail pass for 10 journeys and loved it!Now I am traveling to Europe again in summer of 2026. The destinations for which I would use the pass are:Madrid to Seville Seville to Barcelona Zurich to Interlaken (Switzerland) Interlaken to Bolzano (Italy) Bolzano to Venice Venice to Florence I considered doing the 5 day youth pass and then buying the cheapest one of these routes, but I did the math and it seems like it would be cheaper to buy all of the tickets directly from the national rail companies instead.  Am I missing something here? What is the advantage to Eurail? Is it worth paying extra just to have the convenience of hopping on any train? If the 5 day youth pass costs 287USD, then I would only save money on the 5 trips if the average cost from the national companies is above 57USD per fare. The Switzerland journeys may be the only ones that go above 57USD, it seems like every other journey is about 25-40Euros. This is all before considering any reservation

We are wanting to use the global rail pass to travel from Hamburg to Copenhagen in April. However, the app won’t show us any routes on the day we need to travel (other than routes that take 22+ hours). Any advice?

Heee I want to book a couple of trains, but for some it says there are no tickets available and some might already be sold out. I checked another website and they’re not sold out, so why isn’t this site showing? I don’t want to buy tickets on other sites if I’ve already bought this pass…

We're doing our first interrail to the Baltics on a 7day pass and wondering about the best route there. We're thinking of getting to Amsterdam from Oxford on the first day then using the second day to get to Gdansk probably via Berlin. Is this the best route?We've also looked into booking the sleeper to Berlin via Brussels but found some problems which put us off. It looks like, when booking through the app, the number of sleeper reservations are limited for pass holders and also bookings don't open til late Jan, so.we're worried about missing the booking slot. Using a different booking tool, reservations for our mid July dates were possible but it looked like (even though i entered our pass details) it was going to cost the same as if we didn't have a pass- and booking an Amsterdam hotel near the station would be cheaper. Am I missing something? Also as the sleeper crosses 2 days presumably this will use 2 days worth of pass even if we go no further than Berlin on our first day?I'll b

Hi, me and my girlfriend would like to make the trip from Oslo to Bodo in July 2026.We were lookin at the option of getting the night train from Oslo to Trondheim and then the daily train from Trondheim to Bodo.Only problem is the connection is only 50 minutes and there is only one Trondheim-Bodo train per day.Would you reckon the connection is safe enough? Or do we have a serious risk of being stranded in Trondheim for 24 hours?On one hand these seem to be 2 trains kinda made for each other and I would therefore imagine they may wait one another. On the other hand the refund policy sets a 60 minutes timeframe for the delay, for these 2 lines only (all the rest is 30 minutes), which they say you have to consider when planning your trip.Thank you in advance for any help Have a good travelling year!

Hi! Im traveling from Utrecht to kopenhagen and back twice in 1 month, thus I bought the interrail pass for 4 days in 1 month. I have a free student travel pass in the Netherlands in the weekends, thus I wont have to use my in and outbound the first time traveling. Is this possible? How do I turn that option off? Or is using the outbound mandatory the first day you travel? I have a transfer at Hengelo, so I thought about activating my interrail pass then (or the first stop after the border, so in germany). What is the best thing I can do? I couldnt find the answer at the forum. Thanks in advance!

My best friend and I would like to travel Europe. I like the cultural aspect more and she prioritizes nature and beautiful landscapes. We would like to mash best of both worlds. How long we’ll go isn’t sure yet, due to different reasons. But we’re planning for a two, max. three week trip. For now we had this route in our heads: Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, the lake of Bled, Triglav National Park, Ljubljana, Innsbruck and Munich. With following details: Nighttrain from Berlin to Vienna  Daytrip in Vienna, so we can travel on to Budapest later that night.  Berlin 2 nights, Vienna daytrip, Budapest 2 nights, Bled + Triglav + Ljubljana = 5 nights for all of these, Innsbruck 2 nights, Munich 2 nights.  We were also considering some place in Italy or Croatia. This is our first time interrailing so suggestions, alternatives, ideas, change of itinerary, … literally everthing’s welcome. Even if that means adding or removing places from our list. We’re looking for any advice in general. Thanks a lo
