Unanswered questions

Me and my friend have bought the 2 month continuous pass on separate devices to use in May/June next year. We aren’t sure how to book seat reservations so that we’ll sit together since they’re on separate devices. Also, we heard booking the Eurostar as soon as possible is best. But we don’t know how to book the Eurostar with the interrail pass or how to add it to our trips. I saw people say you add the train to your trips after you’ve bought the reservation and use the swipe button to confirm the train on your trips after you’ve. But I can’t see that on my app, so can you only do this when it’s activated? And if so, how can you book the Eurostar in advance since we won’t activate it until May 1st. Hope that makes sense, any advice would be amazing 😊 thank you x

Hi, I’m having trouble booking two seat reservations for the RENFE direct service AVE INT #9742 from Lyon Part Dieu to Barcelona Sants on December 27th, departing 14:35 and arriving 19:23. As far as I can see, this train does not seem to show up on interrail.eu. It does show up on RailEurope.com and on HappyRail, but when I look for seat reservations for two people with an Interrail Global pass I only get the standard fee of about €100 each.However, I am able to book a single seat for the standard Interrail fee of €10 through RailEurope. But when I then try to add a second single seat to my basket, I get an error message stating that Unfortunately it appears that this fare may no longer be available from the rail operator. It may be that the price or availability has changed. Please try performing a new search or selecting a different departure time or ticket type.This would suggest that there’s only a single Interrail fee seat left. But on HappyRail it seems that there are plenty seat

I am traveling to Germany next April. Most of my routes do not offer a 1st class seat option. Can I book 2nd class and upgrade on a per route basis?

Good evening,I am writing to you regarding ticket reservations via the Discover EU Pass.I am planning to travel to Barcelona in December (around the 19th) thanks to this opportunity.However, for several weeks now, the reservation dates have been stuck at 23 November, even though tickets on Renfe have been available for two weeks.This means that I cannot make any reservations (accommodation, activities, etc.) if I cannot book my train ticket (at least the outward journey) in advance.Thank you in advance,Thiméo M 

Hi,Looking to confirm I’m doing this the right way: I want to do Barcelona-Lyon on November 9th but I’m unable to find that train in the interrail app for that day - for (most, not all) other days it does show up.I have no issues finding it on Renfe’s website, and I was also able to get a reservation on that train on raileurope - so my understanding is that I just need to add the train manually in the interrail app and I’m good to go - is this correct?Thank you!

Hi - I have purchased 3 x Eurail Passes and have commenced booking trains.However in the Trip Planner where we are planning the trip, it says reservation required - but have already done that and have it confirmed. Can we link the reservation into the trip planner on the website so we know that this segment has been completed?  coming up with us requiring to book passes as ads - doesnt seem to recognise that we have already purchased passes - we are logged in, and my account shows all the correct information (that I have purchased tickets, names of travellers etc) Does the reservations how up in the mobile app?  I cant seem to see the tickets in the mobile app?  I can see them on the website.  Thank you for your advice

How can I actually use the credits? Are they visible in the planner app? I am starting to check tickets, and see no possibility that suggests I can use credits for making the reservations. Am I supposed to buy the reservations and then get refunded with credits?  I feel this is not easily explained anywhere, and it seems like something directly relevant to all Global Plus Plan ticket customers. Thanks for the help! 

Hi everyone,I’m a Korean student currently living in Switzerland as an exchange student from the fall semester of 2025 to the spring semester of 2026.I already have a valid Swiss residence permit and visa, both valid until July 31, 2026.I’m currently participating in an Erasmus exchange program and also have an ESN card.I was wondering if I’m eligible to buy the Interrail Pass (instead of the Eurail Pass) and use the Erasmus discount.If I’m eligible, I’m planning to buy the 2-month Interrail Global Pass, and I’d like to confirm whether it works the same way as the Eurail Pass — that is, whether I can travel freely within the covered countries for two months.Thank you in advance for your help!Best,MINJI CHO

For the Eurail train pass purchased for 7 consecutive days in a month, are there free connections from German (e.g., Baden Baden) or French (e.g., Strasbourg) train stations to light rail and/or buses that take you to/from city centers? Or is there a separate fee for the light rail and buses to/from city centers? Thanks in advance for any response(s).

Booked a ticket online thru Eurail: Paris to Eijsden ticket only shows Paris to Liege. Do i need to buy a Liege to Eijsden ticket separately, even though i indicated the full route?same on the return to Lille. Only Brussels to Lille shows on the ticket

I’m planning a month-long trip around France and want to use the rail system. My current route looks like this:Paris → Strasbourg → Chamonix → Annecy → Lyon → Arles → Nice → Marseille → ParisThe part I’m confused about is the Strasbourg → Chamonix leg. When I use a trip planner, it shows that the train goes through Switzerland. I’d like to save some money and just get the France-only Eurail Pass, but since that route technically crosses into Switzerland, would I need to buy the Global Pass instead?

Hi,I am planning my first trip to Europe next spring.  From May to June for about 30-34 days.  I’m most likely flying from Vancouver to Paris and going home from Amsterdam.  Though I’m very excited planning and looking at destinations to go, I’m also very overwhelmed by it.I’m looking for some itinerary and destinations suggestions for France and  the Netherlands and other countries to visit in between.  I’m hoping to visit at least 4 countries.   My interests are art and gothic/medieval architecture and local artisans.  I don’t drive, so I’ll be using transit and walking.Some destinations I’m interested in are Venice and Prague, but wondered if the countries are too spread out and there would be too much travel time? I’m also considering flying into Venice first instead of Paris.Thanks! Hi all appreciate the help.So I have a 5 day global pass for my europe trip.The trip is Rome > Florence > Milan > Marseille > Bordeaux > Paris. Each location 2 night stays.So I also already bought the reserved seats for all inbetween cities, does that mean I have to show the eurail pass along side with the reserved ticket for the day of travel? And therefore the pass cant be used any other day except for the reserved train dates?

Dear All Community member,I am the holder of Eurail Global Pass 2nd Class.I plan to make seat reservation for my upcoming trip from Lourdes to Paris Montparnasse on December 28. However, after I checked the schedule on that date, there is no 2nd Class seat available. It is only 1st class seat.Is there any suggestions for me how to be able to board the train on that date? Because it is mandatory to have seat reservation, and as I know for 2nd class pass holder, we can't book 1st class seat.Thank you for your help.

We will travel for 2 months in Europe - booked airbnb but do not know what station to depart out of or arrive to when going for example from Paris to Valencia.   How do I know what station is closest to our airbnb?

Hey, I’m new to the Interrail Pass and I’m a bit confused about night trains.If I’ve understood correctly, if a night train is direct, it only counts as one travel day — the day of departure. So I’ve been checking the night train maps to see which routes I could take overnight.For example, the Budapest–Prague EuroNight IC 575 shows up as a night train included in the pass. But when I check the timetable to make a reservation or just to look at it, it shows a route with several train changes.Is that because the timetable doesn’t show the direct train? How can I reserve it?Or is it because there actually aren’t any direct trains? Would that mean it uses up two Interrail travel days even though it’s listed as a single route?Thank you very much for your help,Vicky

We are from the USA and are on a 2+ week vacation around Europe.On Sunday, October 19, while traveling from Offenburg to Cologne on the Deutsche Bahn ICE 200 , my wife accidentally left her phone on the train as we departed at the Cologne Station.We immediately realized our error, but the train had already departed.We called the phone and another passenger answered.  He said he would give the phone to train employee.We got online and created a lost item report K2025/***** (Number hidden by moderation).  We put the phone into lost mode, and put instructions on the screen to call my working phone.With find my iPhone, we watched as the phone ultimately traveled to Hamburg.Since then, nothing has happend.  The phone sat in the same location for 3 days, until the battery died.We tried calling the lost+found number for Deutsche Bahn, but they hang up on us.  “We can’t help”.Now, my lost item report https://db.novafind.eu/home/db/DB/app/lossrecords/K2025_246544?accessToken=JLZKFKKBCDCR2BBDBH2

I made a required reservation for a traject in one direct train. My trip is from Madrid to Avignon.However, the recieved and payed reservation does not cover the whole traject.It only goes untill GironaIf I look again at this train, and the part of this train from Girona to Avignon, I see that for that traject is a reservation required as well, but not anymore available.So I am afraid I will be put out of the train ?When I booked, there was no information given that the reservation was mot possible for the whole traject.The traject was also not divided in more parts, wherr you should make separate reservations.Does that mean that my reservation is oke  for the whole trip to Abignon ?

I can’t seem to book any trains after Dec 14. Anyone have an answer? Thanks!
