Hello, since one week I try to find a way to make a reseration for train ECE 151 from Freiburg/Germany to Milano. But neither at Interrail.eu nor directly at Bahn.de can I get a reservation for a seat. How can I manage that? Or is the train not free for a global pass Interrail? Please help me.

Hi AllOur first post!In September we (wife and I plus a 3 year old and 9 month old) are travelling London - Paris - Bern - Karlsruhe - Brussels - London I've had limited train travel experience in Europe. Do trains typically have space for pushchairs or when booking reservations do I need to request specific spaces? Ideally I would like us all sat together on the train. Again, when booking is there something I should be selecting when buying reservations?Thanks in advance   

Hello. Can anyone please advise on the best things to do in San Sebastian? We arriving from Bilbao today and tomorrow taking the domestic train to Hendaye, France.

I seem to have missed out on tickets for 31.07.26 for 31st July from Milan to Paris, which I understand became available 150 days before, so 2 days ago. If I can’t get tickets to travel on this date through another suitable route I’ll be looking to travel this route on the soonest date afterwards. Does anyone know if tickets become available at midnight in the UK 150 days before? Are they likely to have sold out because Europe has access to the same tickets earlier because of the time difference? Any advice appreciated.

Hi all. We have bought our Eurail passes. I have followed the instructions to book on the obb.at site, but it still says that it will cost EUR 469 to book sleeper berths on the train. Is this correct? I thought the booking fee was only about 40 EUR? Can someone please clarify? Thank you.

Good morning community. It looks like there are two trains from Ams to Zurich Hbf.One is the Nightjet NJ403 (where we have to change trains in Basel to the IC 559), arriving at Zurich at 0726.The other train is the IC60403 which goes straight through to Zurich Hbf arriving at 0805. My question is, which is the option that has the sleeper beds? We are a family of four and want to travel and sleep on the train - it looks like the couchettes are the best option as the sleeper cabins can only take three people. Grateful advice please.thank youAlison

Hi! This is my first interrail trip and i am confused… I want to start my Trip on Friday, in France, on a tgv train. I booked the additional reservation some days ago but when I want to add the trip to my pass now, it says: trip not included in the network. What does that mean?  

Hello. I’m planning a 3 week trip stretching from Barcelona to Belgrade, and was planning to take the train through the south of france and north of italy. I’ve heard a lot on here about the issue of rail pass vs just buying individual tickets, especially in France, Spain, and Italy. I was wondering if there is any advantage at all to buying a rail pass in these places on this time frame?

Hi everyone,Three friends and I are planning to do an Interrail trip this August and we’re thinking about buying the Interrail Global Pass (10 travel days within 2 months, 2nd class). We’d like some advice on whether our route sounds realistic and well planned.Our idea is to fly from Spain to Paris and then travel by train to Amsterdam, Berlin, Wroclaw, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava. From Bratislava we would fly back to Spain, as flights from there seem to be cheaper for us.We’re young and trying to keep costs relatively low. At the moment, we’re planning to stay around 2 nights in each city, and the whole trip would last about 15–16 days in total.It’s our first Interrail trip, so we’re still new to all of this. We’re a bit unsure about reservations and travel times between cities, especially in August. We’re currently looking at accommodation options on Booking and Airbnb, and any tips on how to keep costs down would be really appreciated.Do you think this itinerary is realisti

Is it still the case that you have to call to get wheelchair seating and boarding assistance?  This is going to cost a fortune calling from the states.  Traveling paris, lucerne, zurich, munich, cologne, amsterdam, bruge and back to paris in early april.

My wife and I bought 2 interrail passes back in November using my email address but paying with her card. I received the pass details & numbers sent to my email but directed to my wife. When loading the passes on to my RailPlanner App I had to enter password details (and i think a code sent by SMS) but my wife didn’t. We both connected our passes on the App to a 2026 Trip. (We haven’t activated yet a we are still undecided on date) My wife has tried to log into her Railplanner App but has forgotten her password so clicked the forgotten password button which never allows her through to either retrieve or change her password. 1. Is this a problem because my wife paid but we used my email address? 2. Why did only one of us have to enter our RailPlanner password when loading the pass on despite her’s loading on to her Railplanner App? 3. How does she access the forgotten password facility on the App?Thanks for any help.

Hi,I would like to check is the German Consecutive Pass no longer available to purchase (German Rail Pass Consecutive)? After clicking in, it only shows the flexi pass.I’m travelling on these destination and dates, looking for a better and cost saving option in terms of transportation. Ich versuche gerade für den Nachtzug NT 94 am 27.05. Von Stockholm nach Boden (Schweden) ein Schlafwagenabteil zu reservieren. Im RailPlaner werden mir aber nur Liegewagenplätze in der 2. Klasse angeboten, obwohl in der Übersicht bei der Zugverbindung Private Schlafwagen aufgeführt sind.  Es gibt auch noch freie Schlafplätze, da ich auf der WebSide von SJ.se Plätze buchen könnte. Die wären aber mit dem Preis für die Zugfahrt.  Weiß jemand, wie ich entweder über den Railplaner an die Schlafwagenplätze komme (habe einen 1. Kl. Mobil-Pass) oder wie ich auf SJ.se Schlafwagenplätze ohne Zugticket buchen kann.

Just wanted to share my personal experience with ticket gates on my interrail trips so far.This post is inspired by the earlier question regarding the gates in spain for trains without reservations (Cercanias) Italy open with the QR-Code from your Interrail Pass but only once a day at the same station? (maybe it is also a shorter time frame, just personal experience and not official info) Switzerland The only gates i encountered were at the cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp and to my surprise the interrail Pass QR code worked. (Surprising because i dont think any other routes that accept interrail in switzerland have ticket gates)Netherlands Turning off NFC can be required for regular PDF-Tickets (The interrail app automaticly turns it off while the QR Code is displayed so you dont get that problem with Interrail) (In my case the NFC Ticket from Paris subway was most likly interfering)But i dont remember having problem on my way back from the netherlands where i used interrail

Hi! I need help with info regarding train seat reservations. Currently I won’t be able to catch the train o originally booked the seats since my previous train is delayed due to technical problems. Do you guys know if I can board the next train without problems? Or do I have to buy new seats?

Compared to Sinsheim its less about a cars and more about planes, trains, and other stuff. It has the Russian Space Shuttle Buran, a submarine (U9) you can go inside (Sinsheim also recently got a submarine) a big Antonov An-22 Cargo plane, a Boeing 747. The Museum also an IMAx dome cinema (absolutly worth it if you understand German, still impressive otherwise)Technikmuseum Sinsheim:More focused on cars but then Speyer, but also trains and planes. Can be combined with a visit to Speyer Speyer. The highlights of the Museum include a submarine (U17) an Concorde aircraft ant the Russi

I'm planning an Interrail trip this summer (around August) with 3 friends.We were wondering if it's a good idea to sleep on the train for one night (for example from Amsterdam to Berlin) to save money, or if it's better to book accommodation.Also, would you recommend reserving seats in advance, or is it usually fine without reservations?Any advice or personal experiences would be really helpful. Hi guys! Would be interesting to make a collection of experiences with train cancellations, missed connections and being stranded etc and what solutions the companies provided. Ideally also with a year provided because experiences may change over time.  I will start with two recent experience: November 2025 (RENFE, Spain): I missed my AVE from Madrid to Montpellier because of a delay coming from Andalusia. At the help desk in Atocha they wanted to offer me a hotel free of charge and that I could use the same train the next day. But as I had to be at home in Austria the next evening, I asked if I could go to Barcelona and take the AVE to Lyon the next morning. They agreed, gave me a hand written seat reservation for the next AVE to Barcelona and said I should go there to the customer service.In Barcelona the staff was everything but friendly and said it’s two different companies blabla and that they can’t provide hotel. Hi,I was delayed on Eurostar for almost 2 hours so I am entitled to compensation, but Eurostar say I must claim this from where I bought my ticket , ie Eurial.How do I do this ?

I have mostly avoided travelling through france and spain because of all the mandatory reservations, but at some point it makes sense to also visit spain and portugal atleast once despite the annoying reservations. (I am considering doing it this year if i dont find someone to travel another route together)Starting in Germany(direct ICE to Paris) or Switzerland i plan to travel via France and Spain to Portugal and then back to Paris (maybe travelling to the uk before returning, so i have atleast one country that has easy travel with an interrail pass).Whats the best way to get to portugal and back with some interesting stops in Spain, without spending so much on mandatory reservations. Especially the reservation for international trains seem quite expensive.(France to spain) And spanish trains seem hard to reserve (online) without paying booking fees on top of the reservation cost.
