Hi there, we have 2 passes one on each phone for our upcoming trip. I have planned out all 5 days, with reservations on my phone. We have a 5 day pass, being used over 14 days. I have activated the pass and fixed all 5 travel days. I now want to share the trip so my husband has his on his phone. Its the same exact trip for both of us.

If I share using WhatsApp or email, what does he need to do when he receives it? And does it activate his days too, so all 5 have bar codes? I assume as I have activated my days, I am fit to travel now and need to do nothing else? Ideally I would like that to be the case for both of us as our trip is fixed now

You can share the entire trip, which he can then save on his phone and then connect with his pass.

He'll have to do the activation of the pass and the travel days himself.

Please do note that it is not recommended to activate your pass or any travel day in advance. You may think everything is fixed, but unexpected things can always happen. You can only cancel activation as long as validity hasn’t started yet, which is at midnight. If e.g. you wake up ill on your planned start date, then it will be too late to cancel, the clock will start ticking and you may loose travel days. It's OK to try the app out (choose a start date well in the future) but after that it's best to cancel pass activation until the day you start your trip.

Also please note that the planner in the app is known to be incomplete, out of date and generally not reliable. The operators’ own planners are most reliable. For international planning, bahn.com or the DB Navigator app is a good choice. In any case, always verify your plan a few days in advance with the operator's planner, because there can always be changes, especially if you planned a long time in advance.
