Reservation from London to Glasgow

Hi

I am new to the community. I am trying to reserve a seat from London to Glasgow. On Eurail reservation site it says you have to reserve a seat by paying 10 Aud but in the Rail Europe web site it says that a reservation is not required. Both trains are Avanti west coast and at the same time. Which site is correct? If a reservation is not required can we sit in any seat?

Thank you

Reservations are not required but possible.

Because of this you can't sit in any seat. It needs to be an unreserved one.

Reservations are free of charge in Great Britain. You may do this at stations in Great Britain or by creating an Account with https://www.gwr.com/ and doing a seat reservation then.
