Assistance - turning 80 & need a walking stick

Dolly

I will turn 80 whilst on a 3 week train journey and now need a walking stick and am unable to carry any suitcases - can I apply for assistance from check-in on trains please ?

Should i have a Eurail pass with a code or stamp on it ? I have the Pass Order for me & my husband (email printed copy) and an interrail payment confirmation with Order ID number (posted to me in London from Ultrecht and these bits of information have enabled me to book trains & seats online, so guess that all is ok ?  just a first timer worrying a little ??

At the bottom of the page in the link there's information per country how to apply for assistance. Please note that you often need to make the request several days in advance.

Did you order a paper pass or a mobile pass?

If you ordered a paper pass, then that’s what you need to show on the trains (and fill in the attached diary with whichever trains you’re taking).

If you ordered a mobile pass, then this needs to be added to the Eurail app to create your ticket.

Either way, an email, or order number is not enough.

About the reservations - these are always separate from the pass. You should bring your reservations too (or show them on your phone).

There’s a good guide for how the pass works here: https://www.seat61.com/how-to-use-an-interrail-pass.htm

For assistance on trains, you’ll need to tell each individual train company that you need help getting on and off.

For example, here’s how to contact Eurostar for assistance: https://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/travel-info/travel-planning/accessibility/who-we-can-help

Or you can call them on 03432 186 186.

Thanks for the responses - this is our first time using Eurail/Interrail and we failed to appreciate that the booking process was not all electronic - we have made bookings and also seat reservations for our three week trip starting from London next Wed 26 March.

I did order the passes last July and think that they must have arrived here whilst I was receiving heart value procedures and they were not safely stored with our passports and other important documents.

How can I get replacement copies URGENTLY please ? Thanks so much for your help

However, in principle, a paper pass is like money: if you loose it, it's gone. It doesn't hurt to ask though.
