I bought a 10 day in 2 month Eurail pass for use in December and January. I used 3 days of this in Europe fine then came to UK. With the frequent rail strikes (there have been more strike days than non-strike days over the past three weeks!) I have not been able to use the pass for my travels. Instead I have ended up buying bus or flight tickets.
Is there any way to do anything about this with Eurail? Perhaps refund the unused days, or extend the pass somehow. I will be able to use perhaps two more days of the pass, but it will end with several unused days just because of the strikes.
I suspect I won’t be able to do anything (claiming “delay” compensation is not relevant as it simply stopped travel, not delayed it!), but perhaps there is something I can’t think of!
