Is it possible to use Eurail pass to take U2 in Germany?

We will travel to Germany next week. And we are going to take U2 from Muenchen Hbf station to Messestadt Ost station. But we could not find Messestadt Ost in the app. Can we use Eurail pass or do we have to buy ticket? Thank you very much.

NO. U means UNtergrund=below ground and this is he metro, run by Stadtwerke in the MVV-common fare system. IF you can look at a map and see if there is perhaps an S-Bahn close by, you can use that, this is run by DB. Somehow I recall having also stayed in that area (it is just outside the city-limits, so there are no high taxes) and that a S-bahn was within walking distance, but check yourself-you have to learn to do that anyway. Fares for bustrammetro in/around M are not cheap at all, but quality is also quite good. 

Same-same applies to ANY larger german city.

No, you can take only the trains that run as S 1-2-3-4.…

No Bus, Tram or metro/underground = U-Bahn.

S-Bahn is included
